Moorhen

It is fascinating to see the moorhen seemingly walking over the water by walking on aquatic vegetation thanks to their long unwebbed feet. There you can watch them foraging for food, eating the most abundant foods available, such as insects or vegetation. I saw a moorhen preening its feathers, half opening the wings and working to align the feathers again when suddenly distracted by salt marsh moths and a dragonfly.
